Make Issues: Make Navigation Update
Introducing Make's completely redesigned navigation.
Make has introduced a new navigation experience.
Designed to be simpler, cleaner, and more intuitive, it helps you find what you need without detours.
Along with the new visual design, this update not only improves search functionality but also lays the groundwork for powerful new features coming soon.
The new navigation and design will be gradually rolled out to existing customers during an opt-in period that started last week.
If you're new to Make, you'll automatically start with the new design.
What's Changing?
The focus was on creating a more intuitive and visually refreshed interface.
Here are the key updates.
From Tabs to Sub-Menus
The familiar tabs at the top of the page have been replaced with sleek new sub-menus.
Items are now neatly organized by category, all viewable in one place.
New Organization and Team Selector
The way you navigate between organizations and teams has been redesigned for faster movement between workspaces.
Look Up!
Quick access to notifications, resources, and profiles has been added.
These items have been moved to the top bar for faster and easier access.
Visual Refresh
Visual styles have been updated, including a purple left menu bar and improved buttons, dropdowns, and lists.
Note that navigation for custom apps will maintain the existing tab structure for now.
A dedicated design for that section is planned for a future update.
Phased Rollout Plan
The new navigation will be rolled out in phases for a smooth transition.
GA for Existing Customers with Opt-In
(September 25 - October 31)
Existing customers will see a "Try the new navigation!" in-product popup.
Once activated, a simple walkthrough will guide you through the major changes.
For the next 5 weeks, you can switch between the new and old navigation at any time in your profile settings.
Customers who choose to keep using the old navigation will see a banner saying "New navigation will be activated on November 1."
New Customers (Starting September 25)
All new customers signing up after this date will start directly with the new navigation experience.
General Availability (Starting November 1)
Starting November 1, 2024, the new navigation experience will be permanently available to all users.
The old navigation will be deprecated, and all users who haven't opted in yet will be automatically switched and notified via popup.
Design For User
This redesign was created with users in mind.
You can opt in initially to decide when to explore the changes.
We'll continue to gather your feedback and make improvements going forward.
Our goal is simple.
Provide clearer paths, faster access to important items, and a smoother journey throughout Make -- so you can get more done with less effort.
